Just outside of Menomonie on the Red Cedar River is where you'll find us foraging and harvesting. Since 2012, we have called this place home, working the land- not only to grow gorgeous blooms but also to improve soil health and restore native ecosystems. The more we can source directly from our farm, the less that we have to outsource, and the smaller our carbon footprint. Owner/founder Sarah has worked in horticulture and floristry for over 20 years. She and her family have spent the last decade planning, repairing, and building the Hive & Hollow farm to accommodate and provide our store with gorgeous blooms from the first signs of spring to the last harvest of fall.
Recently, we started hügelkultur farming—a permaculture system that cuts down on water usage and waste while providing our flower beds with ample nutrients. This practice also contributes to the long-term improvement of our soil health, giving back to our land and increasing our productivity.
This all builds into our larger ethos of reshaping the way that we think about floristry- so you can enjoy the beauty of fresh flowers while supporting a larger movement focused on people, practice, and community.
Our farm is located on ancestral Dakota land.
